Marie and Patrick’s Wedding

October 29, 2008 was a  special day for me. This was my first time meeting and shooting with International Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer Joe Wong. Similar to tagging along with Margaret for the first time for Shayne and Daniel’s wedding, my heart was filled with more excitement and anticipation because I will be tagging along with a photographer I have never worked with. Will they be mean, will they even let me shoot, will I even be allowed to experiment. Needless to say, Joe is a great mentor and friend and based on past posts I still have the pleasure of working with him.

Reliving Marie and Patrick’s wedding through my photos was nice. It reminded me the importance of working with the right people. I have never met Marie and Patrick before and yet, when I show up on their what is probably one of their most important days of their lives, they treated me like thier own. I was privellaged to be able to set a couple of shots of my own and they trusted me with whatever I asked of them photographically. This trust transcended through the photos and as a result this has got to be the best wedding I have ever had the pleasure to photograph, even if I was just tagging along.Marie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's Weddingkevinfungphoto_0181kevinfungphoto_0220Marie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's WeddingMarie & Patrick's Weddingthis is my favorite image of the day.

Ross Chea

Last weekend was a busy one. I documented Stefanny and Brian’s wedding reception which went to the wee hours of the night. The next day I had the chance to tag along with Ron for a creative shoot with a model by the name of Ross Chea. I was going to pass on this shoot because I was simply drained from the reception the night before…but Ron convinced me to get off my butt and shoot. Boy am I glad I went out. Ross is a fun and outgoing guy who was pretty much game for anything photographically, it was a little windy but we made due. Walking around downtown looking for little niches here and there was fun, it also gave me the opportunity to direct/instruct Ross, something I don’t get to do very often with my job as a photo journalist. Here are a few from the shoot.

something sweet…

img_6889been posting a lot of weddings lately but in keeping with one of my new year’s resolutions this year, trying to photograph and style food, I wanted to share these sweet brownies I shot with Lucy. I think the bow was a nice touch but not sure about the fork.img_6888img_6920img_6929
